Year 765 of the New Age

Mentioning: Pascal

Seraphina
Happily trotting behind her mother, Seraphina pranced up to each stranger they met along the way to say hello. Arasinya smiled each time, knowing her daughter was enjoying herself. Ara had herbs to deliver to one of the shamans, and she could not leave the little filly on her own quite yet.

When they turned another corner the cave was rather dark but Sera just barely saw the obstacle in front of her and  jumped over a rock in the path. With her head still down she took a few steps before she bumped into something. Although it was somewhat soft, Sera still lost her footing and landed on her butt with her legs sprawled out in front of her.

Looking up, she realized that something was a someone. Her ears pinned down in embarrassment. “Oh...I iz sorries.”

Ara started to apologize, before she finally grinned at the stag. “Hello Scius, it is good to see you. You have not met her yet, but this little one was sired by your son, Pascal. Seraphina is two this year.”

Scius
Yawning and having recently woken up from a darn good nap, Scius was slowly making his way through the tunnels. He was somewhat on the mission for a snack but that could wait. Seeing Ara, a doe his son had… relations with, he saw a fawn with her… A Grandfawn… Great.. Simply great…. Plastering on a gruff smile, Scius spoke somewhat grouchily, but it was all an act “Ara…. Oh!? My Scoundrel Son had a whelping… Mighty gosh! Shes getting big… what's your mother feeding ya? Blackwoods!?”

He laughed dryly as he looked to his grandfawn a moment, not acknowledging the fact she ran into him. Hearing the quiet apology the elderly stag lowered his head down and squinted meanly before breaking into a goofy smile. “I’s forgives chu.” He mimicked her.

Seraphina

“Eeeeee!” Sera screeched in excitement, ignoring the stag’s scrowl. She bounced up and all but jumped in joy. “Grampy! Grampy!”

Seraphina had only met her father a handful of times, and most of them short, but she had never met her grandfather before, and she was sure she liked the stag. She had a new friend! Looking up at the stag, a smile plastered across her face. “Hi!”

Scius

“Hello” He rolled his eyes and flicked his stubby tail a moment. “Go on Ara, if you need to do things… I can watch her.” He snorted softly and looked to the fawn excitedly wiggling in front of him. “Hi Bug Bug… Lets go to my part of the tunnels mkay? Give your mom some time to get things done.”

Seraphina
Ara looked at the stag for a moment, but she saw the eagerness in her little filly. “Alright, I do have a little while to go before I reach my destination. If you don’t mind, I will hurry back.”

Sera watched her mother go before looking back at the stag. She had never been alone with a stag before, but she was happy enough to be with Grampy. Unaffected by the stag’s rough appearance, she smiled up at him. That was the thing with Seraphina, once she decided she liked you, you were lucky to get away. “Okay!”

Scius

He smiled a genuine smile to the filly, giving her a playful nudge with his shoulder as he lead her through the tunnels towards his own cave. Once they had arrived to the cave the filly noticed how light it was in there. The moss covered the walls and the ceiling. And there was one little sliver of sunshine that could be seen through a hole in the ceiling.

A nest was near the far corner, mosses and reeds were the bedding. And there was a small pool of water for easy splashing. “Welcome to Grampy’s home.”

Seraphina
“Oooooo... Pretty.” Sera’s eyes grew large as she looked around the room. She happily trotted to a small patch of moss that was low enough for her to stick her nose in. “Orange! It’s my favorite!”

Carefully drawing a swirl on her hindquarters, or at least as carefully as a young filly can, she managed something that was akin to a swirl, but it looked more like a blob. Satisfied with her work, the tiny filly looked up at the stag. “Grampy, why is cave bright? Do you haz magics? I like playing in water!”

Scius
“The cave is bright because of the mosses and because I have a small crack in my ceiling.so the sun shines through… Its brighter right now because its the middle of the day.” He looked to the blob-swirl and chuckled. “Draw something on my shoulder bug bug.” He decided that was her nickname.

Laying down ever so slowly with a slight grunt he made it so his grandfawn could have free reign of painting him.

Seraphina
“EeeeeEeeEeeeee” Sera squealed in excitement. Mommy never let her paint on her before. She bucked a few times before retrieving some of the orange moss. Dopping the moss a few times on his shoulder, she made a few spots before running and finding her next color of choice. She chose blue and proceeded to make a swirl like blob under the dots of orange. Finishing with a line of green under that she beamed proudly at her masterpiece. “All done!”

Scius

He chuckled at her excitement. Watching her buck around before running and getting more moss to paint him with. He glanced at the moss on his shoulder and grinned. “I look fit to be a warrior!” He chuckled and thought to himself ’So cute...Like Pascal when he was little.’

Seraphina

She giggled and trotted over to the water. “Grampy, do you haz magic? Mommy lets me play when she practices. Can I play in the water?”

Scius

“Yes I do Bug Bug… Watch.” The water in the pond started to bubble and swirl before a frog hopped up into the air made of water. The Frog looked at Seraphina before jumping at her, splashing her with water.

Seraphina

Watching the water, her eyes grew wide for a moment before giggling as the water splashed her in the face. “Again! Again!”

Seraphina jumped into the water, searching for the frog. She kicked and splashed in the water, loving every minute of it. She flicked her tail in a perfect arc that sent droplets raining down on Scuis.

Scius

He chuckled and made a butterfly form out of the water and swirl around the fawn's head before splashing her hinnie.

The water swirled around the fawns feet as he splashed her a bit and smiled at her having a blast. Not minding she got him wet.

Seraphina
Ducking under the stag, she giggled as the butterfly splashed on her flank. She ran out the other side of him and jumped so that she was facing him. “When I get bigger, I will have magic too!”

She dodged another splash of water sent by Scius and ran right back into the shallows. “Mommy says I can be an herbawist like her! Or a poisonman like my daddy!”

Scius

“You want to be a poisonmaster like my son? I’d love to see that.” He chuckled and grinned sending frogs after his grandfawn. The magic was a bit of a strain on him but he was ignoring it for her sake. “When you're bigger you and I can use magic together. I can help you.”

Seraphina
“Yay!” Seraphina nuzzled against Scuis’ shoulder and giggled. She had inadvertently smeared some of the paint she had painted on his shoulder onto her cheek, but Sera did not seem to notice. “What do you Grampy? Are you a poisonman too?

Scius

“I was a soldier. I trained hard and fought for this herd. I’m retired now, Grampy’s too old for hard work like that.” He chuckled and nudged the fawn with his nose. “Youngins like you can get er done though.”

Seraphina
“Oh...that’s good too!” Seraphina trotted back to the water and was about to jump back in when she heard a fawnling walking in the cave just outside the den. “Mommy?”

Ara ducked her head as she stepped into the cave. She smiled at Scius as he turned to look at her. “Thank you for watching Seraphina. I appreciate you watching for me...I hope she was not too much of a handful.”

Seraphina ran up to Grampy one last time before following her mother back home. “Bye Grampy!”

Scius

“Not at all Ara, she even helped me paint my shoulder.” Shows her the smudged spiral before the two of them left. “Bye Bug Bug! Be good for your mother!” He smiled a bit before going and resting for the evening.
